Figurative - Language

In class, we have been learning figurative-language ๐Ÿ˜

Technology and Groundwater - reading for understanding

Our topic is water and science. We have been learning to use lead sentences, sub-titles, background images, and diagrams to help as to answer questions and to find out what some words in the text mean.

What I find interesting about this is that the monitors send the information to the app Riverwatch but I was wondering how they do it, but now that I've read the article Talking To The River I know how they do it

Science Project

Last week our class went to the Waitangi Rivers to test the velocity of the water with string a ball and a stopwatch

this is the bar graph with the speed of all three attempts, that I made.

Jonahล› big rage! ! !

This morning in class for devotions we were studying the book of Jonah we were looking at what Jonah´s reaction to God forgiving the city of Ninevah and what was his attitude did he have that stopped him from accepting God forgiving the Ninevites.

WALT use the study of the bible to gain an understanding that we all need  God's help, mercy, love and we are all called us to forgive others.

The Bible records many stories about "forgiving". The Lord Jesus also taught us like this: when we forgive men when they sin against us, our heavenly father will also forgive us. However, it's hard to forgive from our hearts. With God’s help, you can forgive.

Your assignment is to research "forgiving", in the bible and share what you learned. You will need to use reference material such as biblegateway.com or search engines to locate stories of forgiveness in the Bible.

Begin by brainstorming possible topics and bible references

Create your own framework to record bible references you will read, key events within it, and your thoughts. In week 8 you will use this to write what you learned from the bible about forgiveness.

The Drought ! ! !๐Ÿ’€

For the past two weeks, our class has been writing the ending of the story Thirst.

If I was the author this is how I would have written the end of the story.

Dad shouted once more. His voice rumbled through the trees, scattering the birds that had been perched at the cans quenching their thirst. Ryder heard him this time but did not respond Because he was scared. Scared that he might be grounded when he got home, or that he might get a growling, or a hiding, he did not want to come home to his angry father he thought to himself, will dad ever understand? Will he forgive me?

He started walking home about 5hrs later Because he knew that his parents would be in bed by now, but he was wrong. His parents were not in bed, no, in fact, they weren't even at home when he got there they were out looking for him, with a search party.

When they could not find him they came home for the night to see him lying on the couch fast asleep they left him there fast asleep and they would talk to him in the morning, his father carried him to his bed Ryder was still fast asleep.

In the morning when they were all awake Ryder, his father and his mother sat down and had a talk. Ryder was thinking about all of the worst possible things that were gonna happen to him, like, was he getting a lecture, was he gonna be grounded, was he gonna get a hiding - what could possibly happen?
He thought to himself.
But it was nothing too bad, he only got an hour-long lecture and had to apologize to the Aqua-Plex company manager for stealing the company's water.

After Ryder apologized they went home when suddenly, it started to rain then tears of joy fell from their face, they all ran outside and started to dance in the rain like a bunch of happy baboons in the Savanna forests.
